An accessory dwelling built as an extension rather than a detached structure. It houses a second household in the same family, joined to an existing gabled house on a hilltop lawn. The upper floor sits on a base banked into the slope, buried on the uphill side and exposed downhill facing a large open lawn. Entry is from an auto court into the middle of an open main living area.
