This mixed-use apartment building completed a block-scale redevelopment of a former Mill Creek Valley industrial site. Sited beside two adaptively reused factory buildings, it is notched in the center to preserve sightlines to a restored painted sign atop the neighboring loft building. The western facade is skinned in corrugated metal, inspired by the economical materials of the surrounding industrial context. It subtly shifts in color and tone throughout the day. Because the site sits at one of the city's lowest points, stormwater is managed through rain gardens around the parking lot and buried cell systems supporting the streetscape trees. The second-floor amenity deck features a heated pool, dining areas, an ovoid lawn, and on-structure tree planting.
