St. Louis County Police Detective Antonio Valentine Building

The Detective Antonio Valentine Building consolidates several St. Louis County law enforcement functions in Maryland Heights: the precinct, evidence storage, and intelligence operations. Built as a mission-critical structure, its split program shows in its shape, bending into two wings for two departments. At the rear, a low brick volume meets a taller one, both wrapped in ribbed, copper-toned panels. The color was inspired by vintage police badges, made clear on a badge panel at the entrance. Inside, the main stair passes under a folded wall of perforated copper panels.
